Ground Covers
Lily-of-the-valley.
Valley is this perennial's natural habitat. I remember
picking those little pretty flowers as a kid. I grew up
with them, let's say we both have the same place
of origin: Europe. Every spring and into summer
I'd go to nearby woods and pick as many as I could
hold
in
my two little hands.
They smell divine and
just a few of them will fill a room with fragrance. Their scent
is very powerful and is used in manufacture
of perfume.
It's perfect to serve two purposes:
as a beautiful groundcover and for cutting to scent any
room.
Best time to buy them is
spring, other seasons they are very expensive.
Meaning - happiness or the return of happiness.
Growing tip: they prefer shady spot in garden. It takes
a few years for them to get established and flower, but
it's worth the wait. Once established, they will thrive
spring after spring and fill your garden with heavenly
scent.
