Perennials
Perennials are available throughout the year, but it's best to buy
them in spring or fall. This is the time
when they will become established rapidly once planted.
They should grow
rapidly, and usually perform well within their
first year.
Perennials usually produce one or
more flower crop each year, depending on the variety. Faded
flowers should be removed from the plant. This will ensure
a longer blooming period, but more importantly will allow
the plants
energy
to be directed
towards strengthening the plant instead of producing
seed.
